about

Alexander Pauly is a traditional artist, writer, and musician based in Freiburg, Germany. He is a mental-health professional and a survivor of trauma - having known both sides of the therapy room. That dual perspective shapes his language and his work.

50 Kilos / 50 Drawings / 50 Tracks documents an ongoing attempt to survive through body, image, and sound.

Creation as proof of existence.

His art is not designed to comfort, but it often becomes a refuge for those who are hurt, displaced, or undone. Working exclusively by hand in ink and marker on paper, he explores psychological fracture, devotion, vulnerability, and the uneasy intimacy between pain and care.

Recurring motifs include the nude female body as a monument of strength, imperfection, and defiance; darkness as confession rather than spectacle; and symbolism drawn from the occult, myth, and lived experience. Each piece functions as a psychological portrait - part ritual, part record, part quiet exorcism.
